Black History Month - October 2010



We have got off to a super start in Year 2. This week we had a workshop for Black History Month. We learnt all about Mary Seacole who worked in the Crimea at the same time as Florence Nightingale. We learnt about the conditions the soldiers faced during the war, the type of clothing that was worn and the remedies that Mary Seacole used to heal the soldiers. We even had the chance to dress up in costumes and try our hand at some role play. A fun afternoon was had by all.
