Nursery News

We have had a busy first half of the term in the nursery and the children have enjoyed playing in the different areas of learning. All areas have been well used and explored and the children have made some ground rules about sharing and tidying up in the nursery.

The children proudly presented the Little Red Hen story during the Harvest Festival. All children learnt to sequence the story and lots of inventive story making has followed from that. Mrs Hayter is a very talented story-teller and the children enjoy acting out traditional stories, for example Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

We explored measuring children's height by creating our own measure using bricks. We then sorted the children according to their height from tallest to shortest. There were lots of falling bricks but persistant children made it in the end. Well done the nursery!

The Gardening Club has been warmly welcomed and we have been presented often with interesting plants (runner beans, lavender, potatoes) or surprises like yellow ladybirds and millipedes or spiders!
